What is the point of Microsoft Minutes??
« on: 13/09/2009 15:13:25 »
I have a love hate relationship with microsoft, mostly I love to hate their useless quirks like Microsoft Minutes.

I mean, Really,  what is the point of a counter that says [40 minutes remaning] and then a minute later says [10 minutes remaining]??

I understand the idea, and I know its complex to model data functions over time (I am a software developer) , but if it doesn't work then why have it in there at all? Why not use something like a progress/percentage bar? (YES I know it still wont be completely accurate but at least its not completely inaccurate like the minutes)

You have to agree that Microsoft Minutes are about as useful as an anvil on a life raft...

Yep.... Agreed.

Damn thing goes all over the shop, like you say, and the last minute takes 5 minutes????

As useful as a chocolate frying pan.

I agree with Mr Don & Latebind ( I like agreeing..agreeing is nice !)

One thing though, despite the minutes displayed being somewhat haphazard...for some..it is comforting to see some kind of notational countdown in in addition to a scrolling bar.

Old man with bandy legs hobbles up to girl serving in icecream parlour - "Raspberry ripple please my dear"

Serving girl says - "Crushed nuts Grandad?"

Old man replies - "No, rheumatism".
