The arrows on lines of magnetic force point...

I understand your desire to help your daughter, but I would question if just posting the questions verbatim on the forum is really doing her any favours whatsoever (and some might argue it is cheating).

If you don't know the answer to a question, then try and post questions that will help you understand how to answer the question, rather than just asking for a multiple choice selection of questions that will not necessarily help you understand why the answer is so.

I understand what your saying. My daughter & I have been looking in the book over & over again and couldn't find the answer. Very confusing (the whole thing). I'll keep what you said in mind and try to ask questions in the right way. All I can say is I am glad school is out in 4 weeks!

The arrows on 'lines of force' represent the direction that a single North Seeking Pole would move in. The N on a magnet is a North Seeking Pole.
So the Earth's North Pole is, actually, a South Seeking Pole.
