Why Do Blood Blisters Happen and burst everywhere??
« on: 08/05/2008 17:34:36 »
I have had Blood Blisters mainly on my fingers but they don't hurt or cause
infection.

What causes them as I'd like to know. Could it be because of too much pressure
on a digit/finger or other area of the body

Thanks Rosalind

Aren't they caused by pinches etc. getting your finger pinched and smashed... I would think that somehow the blood may have been trapped into a spot on the skin and then clotted leaving the blood blister.. but now I don't know this it would just be a guess on my part... maybe someone with medical knowledge could tell you the real reason.. :)

Hi rosalind,

Lucky you I'm not your doc  [;D]
neither you are looking for a serious internet-diagnosis!
Try to go through this website to rule out 'splinter hemorrhages',
a condition that would require YOUR doctor attention.

...and you excluded trauma, right?
This is a blood blister from mountain-bike (Utah)

Well I have not pinched anything recently but got one on my right
little finger where I must have held the computer mouse too tight I guess. It doesn't hurt (so far).

BTW I don't have any soul-sisters

Not as much as the live mice that are vermin and at on Sunday
night silly me I tried to untangle the lead from the old mouse but oops broke it and with this new one that is when it happened
on Tuesday.
There is more pressure on my hand.

Iko the Docs in the USA would have difficulty in treating me as I am in the UK and have a brill doctor

You mean the new mouse causes you to use more pressure?

Yes Karen, I think that it does although it is still an USB Hub
optical mouse with a red light underneath but it is shaped slightly differently. It is not so fast to react to the clicking movements
either.
