We accidently got some superglue on our desk and we need to get it off. I did a little research and found this

Counters, tables, floors, etc.
Use acetone to soften glue and then start working at the glue. Brush, scrape, shave, peel, sand or whatever mechanical means is available to work the glue off. Reapply acetone and continue to work at the glue.

But what we would like to know is if it will discolor or stain the wood.

Acetone will remove varnish the from the wood.
(Nail varnish remover is acetone)
If the wood is stained (deliberately coloured) it will remove that too.

I suppose you could try it first on the underside of the table where it won't show.
