Is it really possible to overcome fear?
QuoteIs it really possible to overcome fear?Yes.
The trick with phobias is to re-learn that there's nothing to be afraid of. Do you know someone with a pet bird? At first you can face it while it's still in its cage. The next step would be facing the bird outside its cage until you don't care about it anymore. All in all it will be hard work for you, perhaps you'll need professional help with it, talk to your family doctor, he might be able to refer you to the right person. Phobias are not to be underestimated, it's really great that you want to do something about it!
I agree with Eth and monika,A phobia is an emotional neurosis. The fact that it's a ' phobia ' demonstrates that it can be cured...eventually. By definition it is an irrational fear yes ?Can ewe remind us how this fear developed ?

I managed, but was very uneasy the entire time I was there. When her kids took it out of the cage, I nearly came unhinged, it was not a pretty picture.
