Christianity Debunked?

TIME reports that names on ten burial caskets found near Jerusalem have been deciphered. James Cameron is producing a new documentary, The Lost Tomb of Jesus, detailing DNA tests and other findings proving that Jesus was not resurrected and he fathered a son with Mary Magdelene.

A study commissioned by James Tabor of religious department at the University of North Carolina places the odds at 42 million against there being more than one such combination of family names.

If DNA can be collected it would be great! We could compare it to the DNA of ermmm.......

Until time machines are invented, nothing will be proved concerning whether or not someone named Jesus (and the exact name and it's form is debatable anyway) ever existed, let alone prove that he was not resurrected or that he had children with anyone in particular.

The fact that the odds against finding a particular combination of names is extremely high is proof of nothing; the odds against any particular individual winning the lottery is similarly high, but the odds against someone winning it are very low - the lottery is won by one or more people much more often than it not being won by anybody.

This is just another of those Holy Blood & Holy Grail/Da Vinci Code things.
