RAIN asked the Naked Scientists:
Hello there!
                Â
Hi from Kitchener Ontario/Canada.
               Â
I really enjoy your site-tons of info.
Anyway,I have a question for the Naked Scientists:
If I fire a bullet from a gun, aiming to to a wall covered with magnets, will the magnets enhance the speed,as it gets closer to the magnet?
Thanks - James
What do you think?

If the bullet is made out of lead, or any other non-magnetic material, then no, it won't. If the bullet is made out of a magnetic material then the difference it would make would be tiny, and probably beyond easy measurement.

...And its claws are as big as cups, and for some reason it's got a tremendous fear of stamps! And Mrs Doyle was telling me it's got magnets on its tail, so if you're made out of metal it can attach itself to you! And instead of a mouth it's got four arses!
