James Passas asked the Naked Scientists:
Hi Chris,
Â
Someone asked about various types of batteries, and why some last longer than others. Â
Â
What about Hybrio batteries, which behave like NiMH or NiCd batteries in that they are rechargable & have high current ratings, but are also supposed to keep their charge longer like alkaline batteries? Â Are they as good as the manufacturers claim?Â
Â
Regards,
Â
James, in Cambridge
What do you think?

In my experience, they work, but not quite as well as the manufacturers claim. Having said that though, none of the other types of rechargeable batteries work as well as the manufacturers claim either.

...And its claws are as big as cups, and for some reason it's got a tremendous fear of stamps! And Mrs Doyle was telling me it's got magnets on its tail, so if you're made out of metal it can attach itself to you! And instead of a mouth it's got four arses!
