Can bitter melon treat diabetes?
« on: 23/05/2011 09:01:02 »
Rayyan Kham  asked the Naked Scientists:

Many web sites have been claiming medicinal properties of bitter melons including treating type 2 diabetes.  A recent paper also suggested that scientists in china found four compounds that have been known to increase glucose metabolism and fatty acid oxidation in animal models.

Is it true that bitter melon can replace medicine for type 2 diabetes?

What do you think?
