By the way, on a visit to a nuclear reactor, I was surprised to see many silicon ingots in the reactor core, turning on a rotisserie arrangement. The neutrons from the reactor transmute some Silicon atoms into Phosphorus, producing Phosphorus-doped Silicon, even before the ingot is sawn into wafers.
