My four year old loves her shoes that light up...and other toys that use the piezo electric phenomena.....and then my 12 year old goes and ruins it by asking me how the darn things work !!..I mean..I don't know...do you ?

Is there a lifespan to these things ?

How big is the crystal in the shoe ?

Is there a way that sustained pressure will maintain a sustained light ?

I dont know if this helps, One of my three yeaar old student took off their light up snaekers and tried to ffflush said sneaker down the toilet, after several tries shoe was wedged in neck of toilet and ran over. Teacher to recue with plunger finds said shoe stuck and then removes said shoe from toilet!! Said shoe would not shut up as said shoe was also musical. Teaacher threw saaid shoe in wash...... When shoe came out , said shoe was still singing aand lit up! Said shoe was then dryed, and when finished, saaid shoe continued to sing.. Child refused to wear shoe anymore because it wouldn't stop. So parent took said shoes home and reported that said shoes were still singing lowly and lights still on  3 days later!!They threw said shoes away as were anoyed by its harmonic musical light show and diplay!!!!

Wow !!..thanks Karen !!...that reminds me that I must take my shoes off next time I have a foot spa !![]

Why did the little guy/gal flush it down the toilet ?...was the shoe already driving him/her mad ? []

No the shoe was fine up until the toilet incident! I just wonder why it wouldnt stop, you know you asked if maybe you could press it or something, maybe being wedged in toilet neck tends to make someone, or something want to sing HEHEHEHE and glow!!! The child was simply exploring from a scientific view, new the elimination would go down and wanted to check it out!
