Why do I keep getting static shocks?
« on: 20/08/2013 07:30:02 »
Sharma Sewjalal  asked the Naked Scientists:

Body electrically charged - when I touch the metal door handle at  home or the car, the metal shelving in shops or someone, I get an 'electrical shock'. Is it because I work most of the day on the computer?

This happens often. How can I overcome this?

Regards
Sharma

When I used to work on early computers that had components sensitive to electrostatic discharges I used to work bare foot ( take care you don't touch any live mains lines !)
