There is a man doing trying to perform Head Transplants
« on: 03/07/2016 03:47:11 »
He is going to try this on patients who are paralyzed from the neck down and attach their heads to other bodies. People are complaining about the Ethics of it but he believes that he can give these people new life by giving them fully functioning bodies. This has been done successfully with a monkey, and with a dog. However with those experiments the heads functioned but could not move from the neck down. Though with current technology we can connect things to our mind using devices which hook up our brains to control other devices. They have also made software that moved based on brain activity in patients who have gotten prosthetic limbs. That makes me wonder if perhaps it would be possible to hook up a head to a robotic body or partially robotic body. Everyones thoughts on any of this?

There is a ready supply of human being and it not too difficult to produce one (if you are a man) so why go to these bizarre lengths to prolong the life of one

Should a science forum really be the platform to allow the mad to spread utter drivel?

Indeed the answer is an emphatic no.

Vladimir Demikhov - The Two-Headed Dog Guy

But, there were many more mad scientists: E.G. -

Nikola Tesla - The renowned inventor believed that he had been in contact with extra-terrestrials, and he also managed to fall head over heels in love with a pigeon – from which he believed his feelings were reciprocated.

Francis Crick - the renowned inventor believed that he had been in contact with extra-terrestrials, and he also managed to fall head over heels in love with a pigeon – from which he believed his feelings were reciprocated.

for more insane scientist
