Hi Alan,

May I ask you why you started insulting me and posting what I perceive to be a rude response to my explanation of one of your questions? I've always tried my very best to be as polite as possible to people I'm trying to help. And if my explanation is perceived by some to be over their heads then I need to be told that so I can make the appropriate adjustments to my responses. Insulting me is of no help at all. And responding with Nonsense! is not only very rude but quite wrong since I know what I'm talking about. That kind of response doesn't help anybody. It doesn't give anybody any idea of why you thought it was nonsense. To be quite honest it showed me that you didn't know what you were talking about. Later on in my recent post on energy you clearly showed that you agree with the concept of energy as I know it and as I described it in my webpage.

So why the insults?  I never insulted you so why insult me?

No excuses from me!, Pete I was wrong and apologise profoundly to you and ask for your forgiveness. Even at my rather advanced age I can both learn from a person like you, who has an advanced understanding of sciences and physics, and change my ways for the better, which I am now active doing in the forum.

Maybe the quality of my questions should show that I have more than a basic grasp in the sciences for which I think I deserve a little credit. As an engineer in the Electricity supply field in South Africa I had to understand physics as it applied to heat engines or thermodynamics.

I was also on the team with IBM we introduced computerized processing in South Africa and became the IT Manager over a huge part of South Africa, back then. We had to use very low level programming languages to get our systems working, indeed I even had to master "Object" binary code to as part of our usage in IT

I am a volatile person and your comments led me to believe that in you eyes, I was totally ignorant on all things physics. "You do dislike being challenged" and when I did this in a polite way on your forum a while back you blocked my access to your site.

What set my off is what I saw as disdain from you as to my contributions and answers. Unlike many of the others I try my best to explain physics "just in words", to the less informed or occasional visitor, in an understandably succinct way, free of complex equations or extreme details that might just muddy the understanding of the reader.

I leave the advanced math to people like you, however, I do have a good grasp of physics and the mathematics to absorb most of the answers given by the experts like you.

If you read my last posts in the forum you will notice I have stopped unnecessary rhetoric and have decided to be polite in future to everyone in the forum especially you Pete!

Please if you have used the ignore option on me, pleas cancel it so that we can again engage meaningful dialogue?

Yes. That's the post. I do my best to avoid things like "exist" for reasons just like this. That's why I didn't use that term in that post but instead wrote energy is not a physical entity.

Apology warmly and heartily accepted!  []  In fact, I have to say that this is the most genuine and warmest apology that not only have I ever received but also have ever seen before. I am most impressed by it. It shows me that you're a real gentleman and a very good man. Thank you very much.

I certainly think that you're quite knowledgeable. That's one of the reasons I asked you to join the NEP forum. However our miscommunication made erroneously led me think that you had a serious flaw in your understanding of energy. However I can now see that's wrong. Your understanding of energy is quite solid in fact.

Hmmmm ... I don't recall you saying that. Are you sure that's the exact wording because I did a search in that forum and didn't find that phrase or a sub-phrase. In any case, perhaps you forgot what happened. On Apr 27, 2015 I posted an Admin comment to let members know that there was a change in forum rules to add an "agree to disagree" rule. I believe that placed it in a thread because it applied to the thread I posted it in. When I did that I posted the description of it in the thread. You responded by saying Then sadly I must exit the forum!  I thought that was a bad attitude and it was for that reason I banned you. But it was no big deal since you stated that you won't be back. Also, when someone tells me that they're leaving the forum I ban them for the sole reason that their name won't appear in he member list. I only want members who choose to post in that list even if they choose not to post due to their time constraints. I want the member list to reflect who's actively posting.

Note: As soon as I realize that I made a mistake I make sure to admit asap. It's for that reason why nobody can say that I can't admit that I've made a mistake. In the past I've put this into practice so it's not just words but action. It's my way of making sure that I never turn out to be another "david waite."

I say this because in this case I was wrong to ban you for that reason. I apologize for banning you for the reason I gave. However, as I said, I would have banned you anyway since I ban people who tell me that they'll never post again as I described above. When those people choose to start posting again I lift the ban asap.

I don't understand. Can you show me an example which illustrates this behavior of mine? It gives me the willies to think that I acted like that.  []

If that's true then shame on me. Is it possible that this was a miscommunication also or could it be a difference in opinion in the way we explain things? I do like that "just in words" kind of explanation when I don't know the person or don't know their physics/math background. It's a great idea in fact.
