Why are tea plants grown mostly on landslides in hilly areas?

Most of the people drink tea daily. This is one of the relaxation hot drink. You may observe that tea plants are grown in only land slides at hilly areas. Why can't we grown it in our house. Let's learn science behind their plantation in only that areas.
