Can hypnosis be used to implant fake memories?
« on: 06/10/2016 05:18:58 »
Using hypnosis, can a person be helped to place memories of new experiences in a fabricated story concerning the distant past of the individual being helped? To clarify by example, suggest to the person they had attended an educational institution and that they would remember newly encountered facts as though they had been learned in the past at that institution. This would be for attempting to bypass difficulty in forming new memories. Is this likely to be practicable?

It's alarmingly simple to implant new memories, even without hypnosis.
