Those that live longer eat less
« on: 18/11/2017 23:10:33 »
I recently watched a video on fasting and the benefits it has to the body...curing disease or partial symptoms of the disease.  I believe most research was taken by Dr.'s in Russia.
Of course it is not the solution most would take to their illness as it is painful with euphoria setting in around day 3.  (interesting biblical reference as on the 3rd day he rose again).
I was studying chytridiomycosis (fungal disease in frogs) and noticed that their first line of defense is anorexia.

Is not eating our bodies natural first line of defense against illness?  Are some medications (quick fixes) actually killing us? When did the human population become so weak?
Could this be a factor to why women live longer?

The cell resporation is the cause of aging, many areas thay have very high levels of longevity eat foods that are said to help the cells from damage during resporation. It stands to reason if you eat less due to lack of activity, your cells are less damaged. See the arostocrats for milennia. Old aged grey wizards where rare, the plebs died at 40 tje aristocrats who lived in heated castles with servants and high qality food, horses to ride on lived as long as they do today.

As why women live longer, men do more work and cause themselves more stress ! Its a male characteristic.

One well documented defence strategy that the body uses to fight off infections is a fever.
The body deliberately "overheats" because our (warm blooded) cells are usually more tolerant of heat than most pathogens.

To do that, the body needs lots of spare energy, and it can only get that from food.
Fasting is, potentially, a way to stop one of the body's defences working properly.

On the other hand, most of us will have noticed that, when we feel ill, we are less hungry.
It's entirely possible that following the body's instinctive reaction; eating when hungry, but not eating if you don't want to, is a very sensible start.
Obviously, having said that, if you are ill, consult some sort of medical authority, rather than "stuff you read on a web page".
