All biosynthesis is temperature-dependent.

Not much biosynthesis occurs below about -10C, as most living things have frozen solid.
And not much biosynthesis occurs above about 100C, as most living things have all their proteins denatured. 

In animals and birds, all biological processes operate within a fairly narrow range of temperatures - if your core temperature moves more than 5C away from 37C you are likely to die without intensive medical intervention.

However, bacteria, insects, fish, trees and reptiles have a wider operating range of temperatures, since they can't maintain their own temperature at a constant temperature. But even then, there is a preferred range.
