Crime against humanity with Ex post facto law
« on: 25/08/2020 15:03:26 »
Where I work, a lab (University) made a business with a local firm to build a pair of scissors that could cut very well some papers and after very abruptly don't cut anything. I think it is possible with some processing of steel (temperature, addition of another metal, etc.), something very hard but very thin added to the steel. Why it is not a crime against humanity and against the life ? For people that work to build with intention things that will be broken or unusable sooner, it is possible to give them a minimum of years in jail:

Technicians: 2 years
Engineers: 5 years
Scientists: 10 years
CEO, etc: 20 years
Politicians: 30 years

With Ex post facto law.

Toilet paper.

With Ex post facto law.

Ex post facto laws are always a bad idea, and banned n=under international conventions like the declaration of human rights.

It seems .... odd.... to invoke one for badly made scissors.

I don't often say this, but some things are best left to the invisible hand of the market.
Companies that sell shoddy scissors will go broke.

To responsabilized people to stop do that sort of bad things. And it is done for the Nazis.

No, people buy bad things because all companies do the same... and the scissors are very good at start, after people the scissors are used it is normal to rebuy anothers... People choose the things they can with "mode", with marketing, with publicity...remember that company that design a lamp (stantard) in the end of the URSS it is in Germany, they presented their product in West and others companies said something like that: "and after sell lamps one time for all people you will close your company".

We have toilet paper now.
But, if your proposed law came into being we would not have any.
It is a material that is made  "with intention things that will be broken or unusable soon".
And you seem to want to ban it.
It's not the only thing... ball point pens, razor blades etc. They are all built to be disposable.
Or maybe you didn't think it through.
