My Panic Attacks.
I have found the key to my own panic attacks after many years of suffering. My personal research points to a build up of carbon dioxide upsetting the PH balance of the blood. The brain stem has a carbon dioxide 'alarm' and the message is communicated to the mid brain where the Amygdala (which governs the fear response) 'panics' and moves the body into fight or flight mode before the higher brain can bring any reason and logic to the alarm call.
The fight or flight response worsens the carbon dioxide and PH effects exacerbating the symptoms. Behind the scenes your body corrects the imbalance but this can take 1-2 hours, leaving the sufferer in distress. I have found a way of stopping my own panic attacks much quicker.
If the original poster wants to contact me I am happy to share my findings.
