The Black Hole merger: why doesn't it look like both Black Holes are frozen at the other's Event Horizon? Time stops at the Event Horizon.

The way they picture it is that the two event horizons mixes and merges, forming one sphere. How can this be knowing that time stops at the event horizons?

Do you realise that you can fall into a black hole without noticing?
