Hi folks living in the tropics, here in OZ, well we get a few of the Mozzies, but there about 6 different types, the most effective repellant is the simple old electric fan, they do not like wind apparently it burns them.
But I have noticed, that if one eats seafood, they seem more attracted to you, I went down to our Primary industries dept, and dicussed traps with them, they said the use of CO2 (frozen) in a little breather, and a small LED strobe was also helpful, the trap is essentially like a tent with 2 chambers whereby they get in, but the entrance is lower than the light source, they cleave to the light and die of exhaustion.
