I hope you do not mind me adding to your forum, but I would be really interested in your views.  I am a Trainee Clinical Psychologist and currently doing my Doctorate on Chronic Insomnia at the University of Glasgow Sleep Laboratory.  This forum has been very useful for understanding the torment that many of you go through, and lack of appropriate treatment options.

Traditional treatments such as Cognitive Behaviour Therapy or medication, does not always appear to be beneficial for individuals with life long insomnia, yet clinicians currently manage people with insomnia in the same way, regardless of their presentation.

My current research is looking at alternative psychological treatments for insomnia.

I would be really interested in hearing from anyone to gather some more information. I hope that if you do contact me, you would find it beneficial to discuss your sleep related difficulties, and to receive feedback regarding the findings of my research.

The sleep I had was forced with Nitrazepam sleep tab joy !!....and then I was awake at 6:30-7am...oh happy days !!

I think I need a machine like yours.....except that my one repeatedly knocks me out with a hammer !!

Getting to sleep is the problem with the machine.. once asleep It helps I feel better even if all I got was three hours it feels like more. I think it keeps the breathing from waking you so much. Having your adenoids removed when you snore really badly helps my Johnny had a heck of a time with sleep because of the snoring.. they took his adenoids out when they did his ear and cut the bone back and put in the tubes. all in one step which was nice. He has been great since as far as sleeping. he sleeps very well now.. but it was horrid when he was little.

I bet a machine would help you.. once you got to sleep. I bet your snoring causes trouble!

Good news - for me at any rate.  Went to see Homeopath and was given some tablets - have been sleeping 4 - 5 hours a night since last Friday!  Don't even wake up with partner's snoring!

I am happy with this amount of sleep, although I felt sooooooo tired the first morning.  I hope it lasts................... :0)

Nice do you know what it is they gave you? I am glad it is working. Is it a hebal tablet or something you need to get with a prescription?
I hope it continues to help you and that there are no bad side effects!

I've been given Coffea Cruda because it fits my symptoms (its not the same remedy for everyone).  It is natural - "like cures like" type of thing - in this case if you drink coffee it is likely to keep you awake, but taking a minute dose of Coffea Cruda induces sleep - that's my understanding of it.  I used to think it bunkum, but when you are desparate you will try anything and so far, this does seem to be working - even if it's psychological in reality!!  No side effects with homeopathy apparently, it either works or doesn't.

Hey have you tried that new Zicam cold remedy, gel swab that you swab your nasel pasage with and it is supposed to really help put a kabosh on the cold and way shorten its life! My daughter said it works great!

Its  homeopathic..check it out!

Zicam ?....it'll only work if a crate of it falls on my head !!

What's a kabosh ?....is it a wet shlippery kebab ?...or as ewe guys say kabob !!...lol...kabob !!
