Thank you so much Dr Waldinger (and you demografx for the excellent and tireless work you've put in this community). I might not reply here as often, but I definitely follow all the posts and I'm full of gratitude for the immense effort you've placed. Those who wonder about the mental symptoms and how they are connected to all of this, just remember how your mind is like when suffering from a heavy flu (dioriented, discoordinated, worn down etc) and how similar it feels during full blown POIS. I suspect there might also be an explicit neurological impact from this immuno-allergic reaction...time will tell. However possessing solid scientific evidence that we're not imagining things and that we're dealing with an actual medical condition is already a huge step.I'll definitely sign up for the questionnaire and I urge you all to do the same! We must encourage more research by all means.
Hey Demo or Daveman. I just realized that I seem to be one of the milder cases. I can remember when I used to be worse becasue I had anxiety plus POIS which was horrible but Ive about got the anxiety conqured which makes POIS a bit more tolerable. Anyways my only symtoms are rapid pulse, feverish feeling, headache, stiffness in sternum area and other joints, and sometimes thirsty. Ofcourse all this causes the general weak feeling. But I dont really have the brain fog. And somehow Ive got my symtoms down to about 1-2 days. If I have a NE 2 nights in a row then sometimes the symtoms last 3 or 4 maxium days usually. Anyways what have you guys had the best luck with because I feel like my case is mild so I may be able to drastically reduce my symtoms. Because Im not taking anything right now.
I wonder if you had sex once a week for three years, that your system would finally find an anti-body?I don't suppose there's anybody that could do that!

Quote from: Habibou on 18/01/2011 14:19:42I think we should ask Prof.Dr Waldiner what he thinks about " Intralymphatic allergen administration" as treatment for this serious allergy (what suggested Vandemolen 3 earlier!)I talked with a french doctor about it (by the phone) and it is worth to try it since it only last from 8 weeks to 4 months and it has exactly the same improvements of the 5 years hyposensitization! It is even mentionned on some articles that it is faster and safer .Dr Waldinger states in his announcement that it could be dangerous if not done correctly!

Sigh. To be expected when it comes to "sex".I was pretty angry to hear them joke so much about it as they have NO idea how this has ruined our lives, but if you think about it, if you did not have it, and knew nothing about, as they all do, you would think its pretty funny too... if you step back for a second it is a little odd, and yes because it deals with sex, its gonna get a laugh....All we can do is educate.PS.

"Some of the symptoms may be very confusing to the clinician, especially during flu season as well as during allergy season," Dr. Cliff Bassett, medical director of Allergy & Asthma Care of New York, told AOL Health. "It's a difficult diagnosis because many of the symptoms are similar to those of allergy, flu and colds."

Maybe in hopes that a medical professional is reading the article and wants to learn more about it?Good idea.Good idea but stupid trolls coming to the website posting jokes and fake pois problems, the comments on the articles are good enough. I agree with you. Let them joke. And let them stay there and far away from this forum.

The overall public response has actually been fairly understanding, more than I thought it might be anyway. Many of the comments are sympathetic and understanding. Further, we want to make people who HAVE this condition aware of where they can get updates and support. We've already had quite a few people come to this thread... how many of them have joked about it? Basically none. We've had a couple snotty comments now and then but we survived and moved on.I say spread the word as much as possible, unless it is to a community that is clearly unhelpful.
