Am I the only one who gets POIS symptoms just by thinking about sex?  Ofcoarse I get hit harder if I masturbate/orgasm.

I don't get slight onset of POIS from thinking about sex, but thinking about it often results in arousal which I can then definetely become symtomatic.

Is there anyone here who's had a testicle torsion in the past?

P/T (Progesterone/Testosterone)

Would someone kindly refresh my memory. Which study/article started the P/T combo interest? Dexter's?
demo, the idea came when i asked my doctor if it was safe to try progesterone. she told me that she heard it was safe to try because they were testing it as a male contraceptive. a few weeks later i decided to look it up and found that they used a P/T combo to suppress spermatogenesis.  so basically it came from the study about progesterone and post cotial headaches, because i was researching why progesterone might stop pois. that is the simple answer how the idea showed up on this forum.

although i think my P/T theory seems good, we know that both P and T alone have cased large reductions in some people pois.  it may not even be that important to have a theory why the p/t combo would work. it only seems logical to add the two together and hope for a synergistic effect.

I don't think is psychological. The brain gets a signal when you are aroused. Also the testikels and the prostate. And these organs make fluid, semen. Even if there is no orgasm the hormons which caused POIS are released.

No torsion. But I think the difference between my testicles gets bigger. I know that one testicle is always a bit bigger. I had an ultrasound (echo), but there was nothing too see. In the last years the testicles gets a more red colour. And a few blood vessels in one testicle burst after an O.

You mean the brain creates the signal.

the hormons which caused POIS are released.
We dont know they cause it.

Im not ruling out anything.

Yes you are right about the brain.

Dr. Waldinger said in his first study that POIS is not psychological.

Dr. Waldinger said in his first study that POIS is not psychological.

No he didnt.
He recognised the physical symptoms- that we are not imagining it all.
But he said this

Orgasm is characterized by a symphony of neurobiological and psychological interactive processes, of which most parts are still unknown. It is possible that subtle changes in these processes are responsible for a number of disorders
and discomforts pertaining to sexuality. In addition, there may be biological
syndromes, whose symptoms are erroneously ascribed to psychological
factors, somatization, or hypochondria. Coincidentally, two patients
with similar complaints pertaining to orgasm presented within 1 year of one
another. By previously consulted specialists, their symptoms were diagnosed as psychological in nature.

he uses "maybe" regardings to it being biological, and "possible neurobiological and psychological processes are responsible..."

Personally, Im not ruling out anything.

I had a blood test for hormones yesterday. For Progesteron, Testosteron total and Prolactin. Next wednesday I will hear the results.

There are others on the forum who already know their hormones levels.

He said that others blame it to physical factors. I tought he didn't. But I am not sure. You are right. Maybe it's a number of factors.

I've read the 2 JAMA articles on POIS... real funny.  That's exactly how I would think of it if this didn't happen to me (3 years ago).  I like Rhythm Springs theory on candida and orgasm, because I pretty much feel the same symptoms after eating carbs and sugar and with POIS.  My symptoms all started after I had gotten acne too, which indicates some kind of bacterial/hormonal/internal/digestive problem.  But who knows, we all can have different things that cause POIS (I'm a freaking broken record).  I really want this doctors study to come out.

There are other diseases with a lot of symptoms like POIS. For example an underactive thyroid. And Candida. And fibromyalgia. And Chronic Fatigue Syndrome.
But the difference with POIS is that a lot of symptoms of POIS only appear after an orgasm or arousal.

I've got acne too. I could control it in the last 10 years. But in the last months the acne is back.

It could work for others too. Because 5 HTP tablets increases serotonin.

Forum dutch Wiki (translated):
Serotonin is a neurotransmitter involved in mood, self confidence, sleep, emotion, sexual activity and appetite. It also plays a role in the processing of painful stimuli.

P.S. A lack of serotonin is the cause of premature ejaculation.

Hey all. I am having a bad, if not different session from my norm. Due to what I feel is "orgasm control", over the last 6 mo. I have been able to limit my sessions to 1 or 2 days.

Day 0 (usually slept off, having the "O" at night) and day 1 are medium to medium/heavy. Then I have milky pee on the second night, and my symptoms go away. I feel that somehow, what I do to control the orgasm creates a controlled retrograde flow that initiates a process (auto-immune) which terminates within the 24 hrs. On odd occasions, I can have the milky pee within hours of the "O", in which case the symptoms drop off within a few hours as well.

This time, no milky pee, and medium symptoms for 4 days. Then milky pee, but without much relief of the symptoms. The symptoms are primarily physical: joint pain, swollen hands (which go to sleep a lot at night) and mucous tissues, sinus type symptoms, and  I have one hip join that hurts quite a bit in the morning, and of course the usual neck pain (with grindy crunching as I turn my head.). Today is day 10 and I had more milky pee last night, still with little relief of symptoms. When it's not milky, it's clear and normal. If it was a urinary infection, it would tend to be milky more regularly. This had two marked days milky, the 4th night and the 10th night.

This is the longest session I have had for a long time, and I don't really know what made the difference. The "O" associated with this session seemed "well controlled" and "full", as opposed to weak and/or out of synch.
