If true we can stop.the vaccines. Pandemic over.

No like with many viruses if there is an effective treatment, you can simply go to the doctor and take the treatment.
funny you dont call flu a pandemic, it kills 1000s every year, arround 500,000 world wide.
we should have been investing far more resources looking at treatments then vaccines.
Quote from: Jolly2 on 09/02/2021 15:30:23we should have been investing far more resources looking at treatments then vaccines.People did. Almost every acute hospital investigated every kind of treatment available, and quickly discovered that there wasn't an easy fix. So the Israeli team (and plenty of others) did the fundamental research needed to develop a whole new treatment, which requires just as much safety and efficacy testing as a vaccine but is obviously a less desirable approach because it only suppresses the symptoms without halting the epidemic.Don't get too excited by the word pandemic. It just means an epidemic that affects several countries. In this case, the significant vector is human beings so governmental incompetence has turned a local epidemic into a global one, i.e. a pandemic.
Quote from: Jolly2 on 09/02/2021 15:30:23No like with many viruses if there is an effective treatment, you can simply go to the doctor and take the treatment. That treatment won't stop the virus from spreading.
It also won't keep hospitals from becoming overcrowded if steps aren't taken to mitigate the spread of the virus.
If you take vaccines out of the equation and wait for herd immunity to kick in,
you'd probably be dealing with this pandemic for years to come (especially if the mutant variants can reinfect people who have already had the original strain). The vaccines are absolutely critical.

Excuse me under that definition flu would also count.
Doesn't have to if it treats and cures the people that catch it, it will no longer be an issue.
Yes it will, an effective over the counter treatment would mean no one would ever go to hospital again.
You can forget herd immunity, Fauci has already said the vaccines won't stop transmission.
No you won't, people would just take the treatment if they caught it.
Flu has in the past over whelmed hospitals also.
