Amnesia definition, loss of a large block of interrelated memories; complete or partial loss of memory caused by brain injury, shock, etc.https://www.dictionary.com/browse/amnesia
A baby has life, but no memory.
To me that suggests that the requirement for "life" is easier to meet than the requirement for "memory".If I'm right then it's likely that any disruption to the brain which extinguished "life" would also destroy "memory".

So it seems that memory is a specific kind of information, and whether a seed constitutes memory or not depends on where you draw the line between your definitions.
