Margaret Arthur asked the Naked Scientists:
Hi Chris
The Liggins Institute in NZ (attached to Auckland University Medical School ) has shown that the diet of pregnant women can affect the health of their children and grandchildren.Â
In fact the evidence is so strong that a major health research initiative is now under way involving teaching secondary students to try and change the health of their unborn children and thus maybe reduce the incidence of diabetes and heart disease in this country.
