i have been a dues paying member for decades
for me, I simply didn't enjoy the company recently; altho at one time while I lived in Hawaii, there was a group of fun characters who met weekly at the press club.
What's always bothered me about it though is that a bar has been set at a height that will exclude a lot of people who may be more intelligent than many of those who qualify.
