Going by one of the something laws of termodynamics, assuming you body temperature is lower than the teperature of the sauna, the sauna will heat you up. Since the internal energy of the sauna is now lower(the energy was transfered to yourself to heat you up), you have decreased the temperature of the sauna by increasing your internal energy.

I prefer Steam Rooms....I love the hot wet steamy heat !!....actually..I hate it !!..far too hot ...but I do prefer the wet heat to a saunas dry heat...

anyway...Chris the answer is simple..if you feel it's not hot enough...increase it..or sit higher up...and likewise if it's too hot...move down or decrease the heat...

...make sure you only stay in about 10-20 minutes then rinse off in a cold shower...

....oh...and before making any temp adjustments just sit in the sauna for a couple of minutes first...unless of course the sauna is off !!

If you're hungry..take in some vegetables and chicken....you may as well cook while you're being basted !![:D]

on the same subject and thanks for the answer neilep has anyone who goes to the sauna noticed the sort of unofficial rule that if you just pop in for a few seconds to warm up thus letting cold air in twice in short sucession when you come back in your hairy eyeballed to the lowest seat ive been going for a few months and have started to do it myself.........   .well they deserve it ...swines.or have you noticed how easy it is to get into competition with someone and keep increasing the heat until one of you cracks is this commen or are a lot of the men going to the linlithgow gym just psycotically competitive?

I must admit Chris I've never experienced that..having said that, it's been years since I was in a sauna...you must be describing the ' Sauna Code Of Conduct '..or ' The Fat Sweaty Guide To Sauna Protocol ' [;)]
