some malls have walkalators.   And would love to see more auto flush urinals/toilets  too. I hate touching those knobs in the toiletpublic.

My guess is the tungsten filament and / or the molybdenum support wires got corroded.

I find mostly that the hygiene arrangements in public toilets are mostly futile, assuming you don't wish to spread any contamination that you have on your hands firstly you turn on the taps of the wash basin spreading contamination to the taps (in the unlikely event there is none there already).
You wash your hands turn off the taps recontaminating them !,then you dry them on a paper towel if you are lucky and leave by pulling two door handles that may have already acquired some degree of contamination.
There are of course many more opportunities to spread contamination if you use one of the cubicles with no hand basins or bidets.
