Technology / How do water fuel cells work?
« on: 22/07/2008 02:23:09 »
Please keep us posted. There are many of us who have been waiting for someone to either prove or disprove this, and who isn't just selling do-it-yourself e-books.
This section allows you to view all posts made by this member. Note that you can only see posts made in areas you currently have access to.
As one of "those skeptics", I must point out that many of us are perfectly willing to accept this theory if we could see a working model. There are endless numbers of "how-to" CDs, books, and E-books, but nobody willing to actually demonstrate that this technology is anything more than a scam publicly.
The concept of running water as fuel for cars has been something scientists and researchers have been attempting for quite some time. With the high fuel prices as well as the pollution being an ever-increasing concern, the idea of water grows in the minds of these scientists and researchers. As the process continues for them to successfully create fuel from water the exhausting fact that it just isn’t working has them somewhat baffled.
Although many experts claim that water can in fact be used there are those skeptics who believe it is impossible. However, in all fairness water does in fact contain hydrogen and hydrogen of course is a form of gas.
You can avail e-books on water fuel at
Back to Lavoisier then?
I will try to explain what these guys with the electrolyzers are attempting to do. They are not trying to run their cars or trucks on the hydrogen. They are using the HHO gas as an accelerant. The vapor that comes off the small droplets of gasoline burns at about 4,000 feet per second. Hydrogen in air burns at about 38,000 feet per second. When you do the math, you will see that an engine running at 2000 rpm does not have enough time to completely burn the fuel (the power stroke is only one of the four strokes per rpm). The thought is if you can catch all the fuel on fire at once, rather than waiting for the flame to make its way down from the spark plug and through the gas, you will get a more efficient burn. I hope this sheds some light on what these guys are trying to do.
That's the nearest thing to sense I've read on this thread. If it works, then it can only be a matter of time before we can buy one for all our cars.
I'd still love to know what "spent water" is, though.
dan dan, I just spotted this:Quotecovalently bonded goodnessGive me strength - whatever is THAT?
"Water is an OXIDE not a fuel"
True, but...
Hydrogen peroxide is also an oxide, but is flamable and can be used as a fuel. There are plenty of other oxides which can be used as fuel.
When I was 10, I was a pyromaniac. I spilled some hydrogen peroxide on the cement, threw light a match, and threw it on the peroxide. If I'm not mistaken, it lite on fire. If I'm correct anything that lights on fire can be used as a fuel. But I'm willing to say that I was wrong about this one. I was 10 some time ago. Besides, its totally unrelated.
What about splitting H2O into hydrogen and oxygen and using these split gasses as a fuel. Or am I just stating the obvious?
A car that run on water would be entirely possible if no very practical if the water was supplied at 100°C and its stored energy used to run a freon turbine or other type of heat engine. This is simply "coasting" off the excess or wasted energy. It requires input energy to heat the water.
This system was actually used on the early London underground system where steam powered locomotives had their fires shut down and ran in the tunnels on the residual energy stored in the boiler.
Don Stuckey asked the Naked Scientists:
Have any observed phenomena ever countered any of the laws of thermodynamics, or are the said laws absolute?
What do you think?
Hi Skeptic, you have done a grand job of identifying trigger factors!Andrew, You got me curious, is any of your research or sources published? I, too, am a truth seeker, as you may have guessed, and I would really love to find some serious thoughts(outside of my own)on the subjects of cosmic and gravitational influences on our physiology.
The mention of lunar phases and how they relate to Epilepsy, albeit anecdotal evidence is fascinating to myself and for my research it provides a connection between ourselves and the way gravity drives the circulation. I can see patterns emerging from many presumed unconnected medical conditions and yours fits the pattern perfectly.
Yes but that assumes that they are all mugs (Barnum's(?) original quotation referred to mugs, I believe). Your calculation implies that one in six of us is a mug. Let's see - there's you and there's me - not mugs. . .It took many centuries to reach one billion, only one century for the next billion, and less than one century for the next five billion.
Now count the conspiracy theorists, on the other hand.
There's one born every minute.
QuoteOh, by the way, Sophie, you have joined the ranks of the 'Big Oil Conspiracy'(according those who believe there is one) by editing that link.I just removed what looked to be an advert.
Of course there is, or has been, a 'Big Oil Conspiracy', just as there are Pharmaceutical, Political and Financial Conspiracies. But now the Energy system is changing there is money to be made elsewhere and there will probably be a 'Green Conspiracy'.
How can you expect any large organisation not to promote its own interests in any way that it can?
Thanks to the relative freedom of information, conspiracies are often exposed, tho'.
Was I just being dim there and failed to spot a joke?
Hi there,
I think this information may help you out
Have you ever heard of HHO fuel that has got to be the best way to save on gas prices.?
? Imagine the savings. It will cost you about $160, or two tanks of gas to install an HHO
conversion kit
<Hydrogen Car Kit - Save Money and Improve MPG Massively
Hydrogen car kit empowers your car to run on water and avoid oil as fuel. A vehicle however
will not be able to run on water alone. There needs to be a mixture of gasoline and water to
enable it to run smoothly.
Even the Water Fuel Conversion Kits - How Using Water As Fuel Helps Cut Your Gas Consumption
Recently, there is increased awareness among many drivers of a technology that uses plain
water tosupplement the cars' gasoline consumption. Called a water fuel conversion kit, it is
a simpleadd-on to your current car engine that uses your car battery to carry out an
electrolysis on water to produce Hydroxy gas (HHO). This Hydroxy gas is used to supplement
the burning ofgasoline in the car's engine.
Hydrogen generator kit for car can be better than gasoline or oil additives to raise gas
mileage. When you make or do it on your own, you can save money on gas but will save lots
of dollars on the kit and reproduce the system for other automobiles on your own.
saving money should be what everyonr thinks off and I have done this by using all ideas from
my free Ebook -******
I purchased the available eBooks that teach you how to run your car on water and installed
one on my "chevy 350 small block," it's pretty easy.
<******* This reads too much like an advert so I have removed the link. Hope you don't mind. People can send you a personal message if they want the booklet.

Skeptic, how odd as that is what my late Mum used to say to me,Yes, people must be really brilliant to think that we would want to have one, even if we could bring it on! They apparently don't see that we are in our own personal hell.
that Rosalind you are bringing the saizures on yourself or just imagining them. I was most definitely not and won't.
Also I always thought that nocturnal seizures were the Narcolepsy ones. not grand mal ones. Then I have only ever had my seizures when I am awake.Narcolepsy is actually a sleep disorder that causes excessive daytime sleepiness and 'nodding off' at unusual times. It is often confused with Epilepsy, because they sound so similiar.
Thanks for telling me about the "Hot Toothpicks" now I will be able to understand that better. And you truly don't need them. The real thing is better.
I don't want them.
So how do you stop the triggers being a problem during the full moon becauseI learned a lot about my seizures as a child, partly because an idiot with a medical degree convinced my mother that I was 'bringing them on' myself. My condition remained untreated, and my mother and I 'studied me' for years, as if I was some medical anomaly. We paid close attention to my diet and activities, looking for patterns. Among the ones that held true:
as we know that it happens once every month???
Welcome skeptic
That is interesting to know about your experiences with smoking and the reasons for stopping then using cinnamon flavoured things. Have you ever
bought cinnamon sticks as you can cook or use them in hot drinks.
I have never smoked anything in my life nor do I intend too.
So how do you stop the triggers being a problem during the full moon because
as we know that it happens once every month???
Yes I agree with you about the older myths about epilepsy that go all the way back to the Bible. As you said with the "falling sickness" that Jesus cured
that is something that I'd always thought was epilepsy.
Is this the silly season for nakedscientist forums?
Doesn't anyone read books before starting to post here?
