Girlwind: Life Entension has sublingual DHEA 25mg. LEF.org or Life Extension.com. They also have some blood testing.

NE, day 1:
I am somewhat affected (with POIS) this time, as opposed to my previous NE episodes. What is different? I recently temporarily changed up my diet, giving up "goiterogenic" foods that I routinely eat: soy and broccoli. This could be relevant...but, soy is also high in choline....I just realized that fenugreek has choline in it.
I am wondering, has anyone tried choline as a supplement?
Been doing, iron, vitamin D and B-12 supplements for a month , plus red meat. Anemia is steadily going away, but feeling like a
'Meathead' with all the attendant heart congestion... Looking forward , with hope, of this period being over and returning to raw,
organic veganism...with supplements this time!
I've never been anemic, but I have had times where I've been in the lower end of normal for my hematocrit and iron.
During those times I've taken a liquid iron enriching supplement called Floradix Iron and Herbs. Several alternative
health professionals I know recommend it. It works really well to boost my iron back to normal in about 2 weeks.
Also, I don't think that meat (provided its lean and grass-fed) will cause heart congestion, especially for those of us
who have a metabolic type that thrives on high protein. In fact, eating too little fat and protein can reek serious havoc
on one's health, as I learned in my 20's, when I was committed to being macrobiotic and eating NO meat whatsoever.
My cholesterol at that time fell down to 107! And I thought this was a good thing, even though I was desperately ill
at the time. My father, who was a doctor, harped on me constantly about how UN-healthy it was to have such very
low cholesterol, and after about 8 years I began to believe him, and slowly added meat to my diet. I definitely felt
better after I began to eat meat--free range and grass fed. Many aspects of my health have improved since then.
Cholesterol is the key "ingredient" involved in creating all the steroid hormones in your body. So for those of us
who have hormonal levels that tend to be too low, it's not a good thing to let cholesterol fall to such low levels. I knew a
medical doctor who used to get quite ballistic about "all those young vegetarian guys" that came to see her, "completely
drained and wasted" because they refused to eat meat. She basically reiterated the words of my father.
I do know there are some people who can thrive on a vegetarian/vegan diet, but those have been a minority. They have
a completely different metabolic type, and can get away with consuming a lot of raw fruits and vegetables with minimal
protein and no animal food. From what I've read on this forum, most of the people here who have experimented with
their diets have found that lower carbs and higher protein work better for them. I'm curious if any have found being vegan
to be healthy for them.
It seems that FenuGreek and Maca which I take 3x/day along with Garden of life Restore(FYI Ultra also works ) has the greatest effect on the CFS/Fibromyalgia symptoms.I took Maca a long time ago and there was no improvement.(maybe a bad brand..). You're able to stay 2 months without orgasm while taking horny goat, it's not what is written about this plant ! As I said before I'll try fenugreek.
Yohimbe and Horney goat weed seem to be more of a secondary help in the formula. Works good taken with fruit juice(berries Pomegranite etc)
I also take about 50mg. od DHEA. When I took it alone there wasn't a great effect.
I haven't had an orgasm in 2 months. The physical desire goes down as long as there isn't too much stress to deal with. Kind of keeping my mind on other things as much as possible. Having good results and progress keeps positive mental energy.
Sorry for taking so long to get back to you on this. Been quite busyMy current program of Herbs/enzymes has worked remarkably well in breaking up the "cement" and restoring muscle fleibility. I am being as abstinent as possible to prevent any setbacks. It seems as if by restoring the energy levels, the body begins to heal itself?I know you took a lotof supplements at the same time. Do you have an idea which one was the best to achieve these results. It's great that you have some success !
I avoid Calcium supplements as the last time I took them I could barely stand up.
check this link on Guaifenesin. It works better like this : http://fmnetnews.com/resources-alert-product6.php

Thank you Finally for this link, it's interesting, I had to remove "I strongly suggest" ! Sorry for my invasive theory. I was excessively passionate about this because since a very long time I believe that excessive phosphorus intake is one of the cause of my problems. If you check everything you eat you'll certainly find that phosphorus is in excess, at least according to nutrition books. Lack or excess of it is potentially harmful because it's important in the body (works with B vitamins, calcium, magnesium, zinc, involved in carbohydrate metabolism, ATP, constituent of the brain (phospholipids),...)
An other possible explanation about temporary benefits from eating only raw vegetables is the high intake of vitamins not destroyed by heat. Since carbs, proteins need vitamins for their metabolism, theoretically eating cooked food (containing carbs, proteins without vitamins) should be bad..
I was experimenting with raw organic veganism with emphasis on extremely large quantities of living foods. It worked remarkably well in the sense that my sexual desire was eliminated( just as Gandhi's work states that it will) However I discovered through blood work 10 days ago that I have become iron, Vitamin D and b-12 deficient . This has been doubly vexing in that the weakness associated with anemia can be confused with POIS symptoms.Hi SteveD, but my post adress to other as well.
For 11 months I was plagued with anemia, but the POIS symptoms were completely gone. When I began to see my partner again 8 months ago, and engage in non-orgasmic sexuality, the 'onslaught' commenced. Through thoughtful negotiation, very careful sexual boundaries and the willingness of my partner I have avoided the full torrential consequences of POIS....Whew!
Everytime I eat a vegan diet I feel a peace in the mind, a better nervous system in some way difficult to describe, along with joy. But I'm not willing to do this for a long time however because this effect is not permanent.
When you eat only vegetables, phosphorus is decreasing and this give a chance to other nutrients necessary to metabolize phosphorus to increase.
(I insist on the "only" because vegetables have not the same effect otherwise.)
Also because of the reduced amount of proteins, there is a raise in B6 which is necessary for amino acids metabolism.
By the way, note that phosphorus is necessary for ATP production and for parathyroid gland. (We talked about adrenals, thyroid, pancreas, sexual glands, pineal gland, but a missing one is parathyroid, associated with calcium regulation and maybe tremors)
I strongly suggest to keep this somewhere in our theories :
Guaiafesin is used to treat phosphates intoxication in the body and may help with ATP production : It is used to treat fibromyalgia.
We now postulate that a defective metabolism, possibly a kidney enzyme, forces retention of phosphate, which gradually accumulates to detrimental levels in many tissues. This excess induces inadequate energy formation (ATP), cellular fatigue and malfunctions that explain all the symptoms of fibromyalgia. Our paper for interested professionals defends that theory.
We no longer prescribe gout drugs (uricosurics). We now use guaifenesin for fibromyalgia because it has no side effects and is even safe for children Source : http://www.fibromyalgiatreatment.com/GuaiProtocol.htm
DOPAMINE---
My mother died of Multiple Sclerosis and Parkinsons---
I recall in those old days, there was a discussion of Dopamine--
I always assumed that she could not produce enough of it---
I have read somewhere about iodine being related to Dopamine
production--I just started thinking of this today--Is that crazy?
I've had POIS for over 20 years and I'm 60 years old!!! I'm going to ask
a doctor about that today. This is my first time to see her. She has doctorate in Biochemistry, researched Parkinsons, but she is a Chiropractor. I'm going for accupuncture and Trigger Point, but I selected her because she was on my insurance list AND she is a Biochemist. Only chiropractic is covered, but I will ask her
other questions relating to Dopamine---My case may be genetic, but the Dopamine correlation may be very interesting----
UNDERWATER
My girlfriend, who is 36, has been suffering from POIS for several years and I think we've finally found something that alleviates her symptoms and possibly is causing them. Prior to the onset of POIS at age 34, she had never had issues with feeling lousy after orgasm, now she is basically bedridden for two days afterward. All of her symptoms seem to be the same as the men who post on this forum. She also has been complaining of severe back and shoulder pain (unrelated to sex) for about the same 2 year period. She has tried all sorts of treatments for the back pain and none seem to work. She also has the same POIS systems the day after after drinking ANY alchol... and I mean only 1 sip. She doesn't get the typical hangover (headache, nausea) like most people, just severe POIS like symptoms. She says it feels exactly the same. I think it was this link that helped us to find out what was going on with her.
Yesterday we were just cuddling and both became aroused. The phone rang and the mood passed... we wound up not having sex. Even so, she began suffering from POIS systems shortly afterward. Out of compassion for her and frustration for what was happening to her, I began researching the link between sexual arousal and hormone release. In both men and women, I found that Oxytocin and Vasopressin are released during sexual arousal and peak their release during orgasm. I further discovered that in some people, this release of Oxytocin and vasopressin can cause hyponatremia,(http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Hyponatremia) which can result in the severe myalgiaic symptoms, fatigue and headache that she experiences. The result of the hyponatremia is a low sodium electrolyte balance. I gave her a small glass of water with 1/2 teaspoon of salt and she felt better within 5 minutes. Has anyone else tried saltwater and felt better?
While we don't know the root cause of her sodium electrolyte imbalance, we have now tried the saltwater thing 3-4 times and in every case it has not only resolved her symptoms completely but made her feel fantastic. Her back pain and joint pain even resolved. Clearly she has to be careful about how much saltwater she ingests but the link between electrolyte imbalance and her POIS symptoms could not be ignored. Has anyone else tried this treatment with success?
She has not had any alcohol since we discovered this treatment for her POIS symptoms. We don't know if they are related but if anyone else has these "hangovers" that mirror POIS symptoms after just a tiny amount of alcohol, we'd be very interested to know. Also, please let us know if the saltwater works for you.
Horney Goat Weed
Finally....what brand of Horny Goat Weed are you using....what dose?
I think I had POIS symptoms after a roller coaster ride once, but then again my girlfriend was sitting on my lap []
Now this requires some serious science: take a roller coaster ride again with said female removed. If symptoms persist, try bumper cars or boat rides!
Same here.
I road a rollercoaster last year and after the ride finished I felt POIS symptoms...weird. It was like I was on a high during the ride (all thoughs sensations going fast upside-down) and after it was a low.
Go go fenugreek at the amusement park? []
