I want an iphone too, but I still have a years contract on my razr.  Can't imagine what the additional charges will be for it.

The only difference is the difference between English and American.

Technically, a mobile phone could refer to any type of radio phone, including non-cellular technology, but in practice, the two are these days regarded as synonymous.
