3)  surpassing of the value of the american dollar by the canadian dollar (it's already at 0.85 USD)
4)  invasion of either Iran or Syria

I don't think the draft.  Don't think we can afford to invade Iran or Syria.  As far as the dollar, I guess it will go down as the war debt goes up.  Roe v. Wade?  Don't get bent out of shape if it's overturned.  Back in the dark ages when I first became a nurse, abortion was illegal, but there was always a provision for a therapeutic abortion, and it wasn't that hard to get one.  Just had to have two doctors agree that it was detrimental to either your physical or emotional health to continue the pregnancy.  Now obviously, that wasn't terribly hard to do.  Back then, abortion wasn't another method of birth control like it is now.  And I've been to the clinics and I've got to tell you, those girls aren't properly counselled before they sign up for the abortion.  I'm a strong believer in informed consent.

And what about women that live in pissant little backwater towns where the doctor won't approve abortion even in cases of rape?  Now you have women throwing themselves down the stairs to try and induce a miscarriage.  

I'm all about informed consent, too, but I think reports of women using abortion as post-facto birth control are greatly exaggerated.  It's dangerous, unpleasant, and I imagine not cheap.  Regardless, with the overpopulation we're starting to see, I'm not all that heartbroken over less new people coming into the world.

As a side note, I find it odd that a political leader who has done more to further the death penalty than anyone else I can think of is suddenly so pro-life when it comes to abortion.  Does "thou shalt not kill" really mean "thou shalt not kill clumps of organic goo that might someday become a baby"?

Hey, I'm not at all for women throwing themselves down steps or resorting to coat hangers for abortions.  And I should think that now the medical community is not as adamant as they were about abortion.  There's a whole new generation of doctors out there who are more liberal in their thinking.  I can tell you that I don't think the reports of women using abortion as birth control are overexaggerated from an experience of sitting in a waiting room of an abortion clinic with a friend of mine, and the number of women there who were on their second, and even third abortions.  The obvious answer is to be more responsible with birth control.  That being said, I absolutely agree that abortion should be an option in cases of rape or incest, or threat to the mother's health.  I am not totally anti-abortion, nor am I anti death penalty.  There's a time and place for both, and neither should be that easy to accomplish.

Ehh..  I have never voted for him because he does not admit or talk about his DWI record or drug abuse.  The other guy was just something different.

I live in Texas so my vote doesn't count because the electoral etc etc and Texas is a Bush state because eveyone over 50 thinks he is some cowboy thanks to the TV and the fact that they are mostly retired so who cares.  

The greatest threat to The States is "the Greatest Generation" not the pot smoking 20 somethings.

I listen to the old when it comes to living because you don't get to 80 being a jerkoff.  When it comes to being just "wise" they are hopelessly lost in the Black and White, "Duck and COVER!" Refer madness world of the media.
