Is kryptonite real? Does krypton react with oxygen?
« on: 27/12/2004 14:32:36 »
It is really possible under extraordinary conditions to create a reaction between Krypton and Oxygen. I cannot remember what they are. Can you? I studied this almost fifteen years ago.

Well, I've studied that Krypton and Oxygen can be reacted, like Xe and O2, but I can't find the equation of the reaction, So sorry.
Besides O2, Krypton can be react with F2, Cl2,... like Xe but the products of Krypton isn't durable like Xe's.

Krypton reacts with cationic ozone derivatives in the gas phase under Fourier-transform ion cyclotron resonance conditions to yield stableKrOn+ (n = 1,2) and KrOH+ ions.
