my mother in law has had dystonia now for 7 years, can anyone give me any info on stem cell treatment, and tell me how she would benefit from having it.

For some additional information about stem cells, see the following references on this site :
Clive Svendsen (from the Cambridge Centre for Brain Repair) who works on stem cells :

Also, check out the interview with Roger Baker, also from the Cambridge Centre for Brain Repair, conducted 1 year later. This reference is also accompanied by a host of links to other websites containing detailed information about stem cell technology.

To my knowledge, however, there are no current trials of stem cell therapy in place for the treatment of dystonias.
