The Earth's seasons is predominantly caused by the tilt of the Earth's axis, and to a lesser extent by the eccentricity of the Earth's orbit around the Sun. As far as I am aware, the Earth always has had a tilt to its rotational axis (although the amount of that tilt does vary), and always has had some eccentricity to its orbit around the Sun, and thus the Earth must always have had some sort of seasons.
Ofcourse, the exact nature of those seasons has varied, just as it still varies in different parts of the world.
George.
