Mathematically defined base units
« on: 24/09/2006 05:44:09 »
Physicists are aware that the current system of base units defined by SI have major shortcomings, and they have created a number of systems which they hope are better suited to the real physical universe.

The fortuitous identification of an unusual dimension set led to a mathematical process that mutually defines three of the base units of measure, a "unit of time", a "unit of length", and a numeric value for the "speed of light " (SOL) using the two preceding units.  The process identified in the URL below is the simplest, but you can arrive at the same value for Ce starting with the dimension set noted in the last paragraph, it just takes more steps.
