Homemade Mini Particle Accelerator
« on: 13/07/2013 10:22:18 »
Hello everyone, I would like to build a particle accelerator, and the only thing I have to go on is a linear accelerator, or linac, and a cascade tube accelerator, which a diagram of can be found here:whatever I do, linac or cascade tube, I need to know where to start. More information can be found at [Link Removed] under particle physics, and if you reply, please reply on that forum and this one as I am not sure which I will check regularly.

In a sense, any CRT TV or computer monitor is a mini particle accelerator.  And, of course, electron microscopes.  It all depends on your ultimate goals.

Don't those things give off X-rays ... http://hackaday.com/2012/07/12/building-a-crt-and-bathing-yourself-in-x-rays/

Does a CRT create 1.02 MeV of energy? Sorry for not stating this earlier, but I am hoping to use this for creating positrons which i would like to do experiments with in cloud chambers.
