This may be a pretty noobish question; but I'm having a hard time figuring out what happens.

If you add few droplets of HCl to some NH₃. And some "whity" smoke is formed, what is the reaction that took place?

HCl + NH₃ --> NH₄Cl which is a solid white substance and so it's generated in white fumes, in those conditions.

A little, simple magical experiment:
you wet your hands with diluted ammonia solution, then you say to people that you will do a magic generating smoke from nothing. You approach a glass containing an HCl solution and you brush your hands, one on the other, over the glass. A white smoke will appear.

No, I'm joking.
You wet a thin line of your hand with a concentrated water solution of NaSCN (sodium solfocianide) and you wet a knife with a Fe³⁺ solution, for example Fe(NO₃)₃. Then you touch your hand with the knife, making the blade correspond to the wet region; immediately a blood-coloured line will form in your hand.
