mourning and melancholia
« on: 20/10/2003 19:56:55 »
Axxording to Sigmund Freud and his neurosis, the difference between mourning and melancholia is the investment of libido. Mourning is the investment within another person or object that goes away but the libido slowly returns to oneself through the process of mourninga and is reinvested in something else. So what is melancholia?

Mr. Freud was a sex freak. He'd work the penis into a stumped toe. Somehow, my lust for my mother's sister's cousin's co-worker caused me to get the hiccups today.

I guess melancholia is mourning without the viagra.
