I was going to post this before the event, but lost my broadband connection yesterday.

Yesterday BBC 4 ran a series of programmes on Mars and the 'Orion' project.

Quite apart from anything else, I am astounded at good ol' Sir Patrick. He must be nearly as old as the universe himself...... (No offence intended) and still he keeps going!

Re the Orion project: this article mentions one of the less obvious problems with the idea.  It also contains a link to the 'memoir' in question (10MB PDF)
