It actually growing out of a branch but I never seen anything like it before.

Yes...!!

.... it is well known documented fact that caterpillars purchase parasols to protect them from the rain & sun.
This is just the last one left after an obviously busy day in caterpillar parasol retail.

It does look unusual though doesn't it ?...In all seriousness, I don't think I've seen anything like it too !......though fungi does grow on trees...we've all seen that at the base of a tree, but in this case the 'mushroom/toadstool/fungi ?' is clearly parasitic...

Your mushroom looks like Porcelain Fungus (Oudemansiella mucida):-

Porcelain fungus is very glossy (slimy) hence the name.

i was wondering where i left my mushroom, ever since that turtle attacked me i havent been able to find it and i have been very small and cant run as fast. I need it back so i grow bigger again. and then perhaps a feather. LUIGIIIII.............
