False positive ELISA serologic test for lyme borreliosis in patients with connective tissue diseases Three patients are reported with false positive enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay (ELISA) for IgG antibodies against Borrelia burgdorferi, respectively associated with undifferentiated connective tissue disease or systemic lupus erythematosus. These cases further document that Lyme serology should be interpreted with caution and within the clinical context.
