Suggestion for use of internal control in gene experssion study in e.coli

hello all.
can any one provide me details about what house keeping gene should i use as internal control for studying TEM and HSV genes experssion study in e.coli. These genes are Beta Lactamase producing genes responsible in Efflux pump action of Beta lactum antibiotics.

I don't really know enough about the genetic structure of
E. coli
to make a knowledgable contribution. But perhaps a mitrochondrialy expressive gene may prove suitable as ATPase genes are relatively ubiqitious, I beleive.
I apologise if this is erroneous, it was just a thought...

Hey Sam,
Hopefully you've figured out a control by now... but just in case, you could try a ribosomal gene. I use those for controls in eukaryotic cell experiments and they work pretty well.
Best of luck.

Hello,
I hope you have figured this out now
Common housekeeping genes used as controls are recA, rpoB, tuf... Any paper on gene expression regulation would give you the details of the genes and the related primers.
