I used VideoCharge Studio. I don't know better software to create animation gif from video!

But why don't u use Video Avatar? You can create animated avatar.Also convert video to gif. It's really cool programm!

Microsoft GIF Animator is a simple program to use too...

Except, that I am now running a "Microsoft-Free Computer"   [8)]

Just assemble successive frames.

This topic is quite old but it seems still many people view it so I suggest using newbielink:http://www.selteco.com/bannershop/ [nonactive] for making animated gifs, buttons, banners or avatars.
