Could anyone please tell me where Phil Rosenberg hails from? His accent is puzzling to me. Delightful, but puzzling.

well according to his short bio on the main Naked Scientist site: Phil Rosenberg is currently studying for a PhD in Space Science, at the Open University in Milton Keynes.

Being from Milton Keynes myself, i can't say that he has a Milton Keynes accent because i don't think there is one. Possibly a southern county.

Does Mr Wood know how delightful you find the accent  []

Dave is correct, I am originally from Wakefield in West Yorkshire, UK. It's not as strong an accent as some people from near that area (Barnsley, for example is reknowned for it's particularly strong Yorkshire accent).
I think my accent has been tempered slightly by the fact that despite doing my degree in Sheffield, South Yorkshire, most of the other students were from all accross the country. The same is now true here at the OU in Milton Keynes, where I'm studying for my PhD.

Paul - I think there is a bit of a Milton Keynes accent. It's quite subtle, but I've mistaken a few voices for our departmental secretary, who is MK born. Perhaps with the huge growth in Milton Keynes over the past few decades the accent comes out most in the younger generation that have lived here all there lives.

Thank you, gentlemen! And yes, Mr. Wood does know that I find Phil's accent delightful. He also listens to the podcast with me and enjoys it very much, as do our three children (ages 12, 11 and 7). We can't wait until the next one is uploaded each week.

I would never have guesses you were from Wakefield! Younger generation, i'm not that old...lol. I guess you tend not to notice an accent if that is where you are from, or have spent most of your life.
