why am i being overrun by spiders?
« on: 30/09/2007 20:06:49 »
OK, slight exaggeration. But, i am seeing more and more spiders in my front room than ever. I hate spiders, these are nearly as big as my shoe, which makes whacking them a whole different ball game.
did i mention i hate spiders?

Invite the neighborhood over to make this a competitive sport!  Whoever kills the most gets the beer!  J/K They have a nest somewhere in a dark spot.

once it starts to get cooler all the bugs want inside. it's not their fault, they don't have tiny central heating for their webs. but they are horrible and scary. i get this spray that's for ants and roaches but it also kills spiders. then i vacuum them up.

OK I watched a show the other night and the lady said we get spiders in our houses because we have flies in the houses. The spiders come in seeking the hatching flies so put a strip of double stick tape down your glass windows where flies like to be, then take a spoon of honey and smear a small amount down the tape some hours later you will see why your spiders are in your house! "Like flies to Honey" The spiders come to trap the flies to eat. So feed the flies honey to trap them and clear out your visible spiders and webs. Then watch again for flies and repeat the tape if necessary to attract the remainder of the hatching flies. They hatch in cycles I believe so repaet for new batches to keep the spiders away!
