     Ben charged outside, but it was nigh impossible to see anything in the driving snow. Jack screamed again from some where over at Ben's right. He spun around but saw only a dark shape. Concluding that Jack was not nearly as tall as this creature, Ben opened fire. The figure roared as Ben saw his bullets connect. The figure looked around then charged off into the darkness.
     "Jack? Jack!" Ben called out, the wind howled in reply. Ben cursed and ran back to the computer room.
     "Why did you do that?" The Commander barked.
     "Whatever's out there is huge. I think...I think it got Jack." Ben panted.
     "They're inside the perimeter?! We need to get back to the transport! Everyone move, stay together!"
     "What about Jack?" Rob demanded.
     Ben fought his way with the rest of the squad to the RV point. Ben would've liked to be relieved to be going home, there was just one problem.
     The transport wasn't there.
     "Where is he?" Rob yelled.
     "Those things must've got him, we gotta pull ba-" The Commander didn't finish when a roar was heard un-nervingly close.
     "He's already dead...there's nothing we can do." The Commander said.

Dear Diary,(My Vent)

Today is the first time I have been able to get on the forum.  There are many reasons why I chose to stay away and one reason came up recently as I was only trying to warn all of my friends and forum members that was listed in my addressbook. 

I hope that all that reads this while I am venting will please forgive me if you were one to have received this email.  Now  let me explain in case any of you were in receipt of it; You may have noticed another member's name mentioned on it. 

I did receive a response from a moderator who sent me the rule number about sending emails to forum members for abusing email.  For one, who can claim what abuse is in emails? Could it be that I have sent numerous emails out? No.  In fact, that was the only one that I know of that was sent out as I have been out of town and not been on any forums that I am a member nor moderate on. 

The person who sent the email has a different IP address but was sending a scam email.  I meant the email to be heads up since he seemed confused with whom my email address belonged too.

I miss most of you and hope you are all doing fine!

As far as I'm concerned there's nothing to forgive!  I received that same email from that same guy, from that same email address!  I receive dozens of them monthly, and I took your email as simply a warning.

Loretta it is good to know you are all right. I am glad you posted. I must say I did not receive one, but I am worried for you.. and thank you for giving everyone a heads up!

     The squad ran pell-mell back to the encampment.
     "What do we do now?" Ben called.
     "We've got to get to their garage, find a transport!" The Commander yelled back.
     "We already checked all the buildings!" Rob shouted.
     "They might have some in the mines! Let's go!" The Commander yelled again.
     "That's where those things came from!" Ben exclaimed, but it was no use. They were already heading for the mines. Inside the mines, it was predictibly cold and dark.
     "Hit the lights." The Commander said. Rob threw a switch and the lights flickered on, to reveal mutilated bodies lining the the corridor.
     "Can we turn them back off?" Ben said, nervous. No one said anything as they marched down the tunnel. Ben could've sworn he heard footsteps behind him more than once. He reloaded his rifle. The squad kept following the signs, oft times splattered with blood, to the garage.
     "It should be right behind this door..." The Commander said, "But it's jammed gimmie a sec."
     At that moment an all too familiar growl echoed from down the corridor.
     "Go fast." Ben said.

 I have had better. Had a real rough morning.. have gone from sweating hot out in the freezing cold to freezing cold in the warm hose.. But I feel better and the nausia has passed.. so thats good.. I am just cold now and sore..

All is fine. How is the weather back there?

I'm shivering right now.  Temperatures are dropping, we're in the 40's right now and it's supposed to be in the high 20's tonight.  I guess I need to turn the heat on, but I hate to, it makes my nose bleed.
